Change is in the air...

This time of year starts one of the most fun( and busy) times of the year. Halloween was so much fun with Nathan being Indiana Jones and Connor "driving" us all crazy as Speed Racer, as well as their silly mom taking everyone back to the 80's with the poofy hair and layered Madonna look! What a fun night that was!

Now, with Halloween behind us, it is time to look forward to Thanksgiving and a time to count our blessings and and thank God for all he has given us. This time of year means gathering recipes old and new, baking lots of good treats, sitting by the fireplace on cool evenings with the family, and preparing for all the fun(and stress) of Christmas. Time for socials and dinner parties and spending lots of quality time with great food and great family and friends, which is a true blessing all it's own.

Our family has a lot to be thankful for this year. I hope that everyone can find the time to enjoy the blessings of the following seasons and share the love and joy of the seasons whatever it means to you.

Fall...

Fall is my favorite time of year! The crisp, cool air is invigorating to me; it energizes everything that I do and makes me feel like I am young again(oh boy, now I do sound like my parents! lol) School starting, football games, the fair, the leaves changing, fall festivals, hay rides, and Halloween....all of this makes for a wonderful season full of food, fun, and good times with friends and family.

During this time of year, it seems that I get more sentimental and look back over the years when I was young and want to bring those same memorable experiences that I had with my family to my own kids. It seems as if each change in the fall brings new questions from them and more reminiscing from me! That sounds cheesy, I know, but I never promised that it wouldn't get sugary sweet in my blog! LOL

As for me, I am just going to enjoy this time of the year, and it will pass so quickly, and watch my boys experience the fun of raking leaves and jumping in them and raking them again, and think about all the times I did the same; all the time hoping that my boys will have as great memories of the fall and their childhood as I have of my own.

These Days...

Ok, here goes.....since I am new to this blogging world and mildly technology challenged, this is a grand new adventure for me. Not really sure how this is supposed to go, but I will give it a shot...since this seems to be the next big thing to do when you are old enough to be at home each night! LOL

This is a nice new hobby for me, as is exploring Myspace and Facebook, and reconnecting with all of my old friends and classmates. These days, you can look back over all the years and see just how trivial some things were in school and how so much time is lost during that particular time worrying about things that will not matter 10 years from now.

I guess my focus in the blogging world will be to concentrate on things going on "these days" and let the past remain in the past while still giving it all the consideration that it is due. And to share a little of my life, for those that are interested, as it has been a wonderful one so far.

See, told ya I was new to this and if you remember, I did not promise that I would not rant incoherently about stupid stuff! =)

Ok, I will "give it a rest" as my baby boy Connor likes to say .....at least for now. Hopefully, things will improve in the future...no promises though. =-)
